Rene Christine Jones

Ms. Jones comes to Pendant Audio with only one terribly bad audio experience under her belt, a failed college radio show called "Tommy Noble, Cheap Detective" playing the femme fatale "Belle Silver". After this tragic experience she thought she would never work in audio again. However thanks to the kind writer and director of "Umket Industries Presents: The Dixie Stenberg and Brassy Battalion Adventure Theater" Ms. Jones was given a second chance to let her voice shine once again this time in the lead role of "Dixie Stenberg".

With her new found calling to audio theater, she quickly worked in tandem with her co-writing partner from college, Miss Alicia Laine Matheson, to bring their work of creative genius "Once Upon a Time in Vegas" from mere words on a page into the brilliant original audio production it has become. Her creative writing talents (along with Ms. Matheson's) were recently recognized with a Pendy for "Best Writing in a Seminar Short" for "Don't Come Back Until I Have a Penis" which originally began as a short story for random personal amusement.

Ms. Jones, though still breaking her jaw in around audio theater, is definitely no stranger to live theatrical productions. Her calling to theatre began at the ripe old age of 9, when she was cast and performed as the title character in the musical "Annie". This would begin a long career in community theater, school productions, and even semi-professsional productions. Some of her favorite roles include: Agnes in "Agnes of God" (which she is convinced is her one way ticket to hell, as it was performed in the back room of an Episcopal church), Nicely Nicely Johnson in "Guys and Dolls" at the Ramona Playhouse, Tamara in "Bottle Rockets" for the Impossible Theatre Company, Little Red Riding Hood (ironic standing at 6 feet tall barefoot) in Impossible Theatre's production of "Into the Woods", and though possibly not her favorite, but apparently the role she was/is destined to play for life - Kate in "Taming of the Shrew", which she has played 8 seperate times out of 17 productions of the show in which she has been cast.

Beyond acting in more than 35 different shows from straight plays to musical theatre, Rene has also been everything from a Stage Manager, to a Techie, to a Director and just about everything in between. Though possibly scarring her for life, her directorial debut of "Prelude to a Kiss" remains one of her favorites, depite having to direct her older brother to get naked several times throughout the play. This has subsequently caused a severe eye twitch whenever she sees a hat rack (ask her about this if your curious as to why). Beyond scripted productions, Rene has also been a member of three improv groups: Imagination Incorporated, Solemon's Porch, and the LA Connection (the last which permanently damaged her brain as during an improv show where her barrette was forced into her skull, but like the good actress she was, she completed the show despite the bleeding head wound, (Man is this girl dedicated or what?)

When not recording her lines for her two shows (sorry Seth if I am late with lines again), Rene actively participates in Renaissance Faires as a Washer Woman, is a somewhat active gamer chick, crochets, works on trying to get her working novels out of her head and onto her laptop, works as a hairstylist and general cosmotologist, and more than anything spends time being a mother to her beautiful daughter Natasha who recently turned six and is losing her teeth while simultaneously driving Ms Jones to lose her mind.

Currently Rene works as co-writer and co-creator of her original concept "Once Upon a Time in Vegas", as well as voicing the character modeled after her, Tessa. She also is proud to play the lead role of Dixie in Jeffrey Bridges original series - "Umket Industries Presents: The Dixie Stenberg and Brassy Battalion Adventure Theater". Rene looks forward to a long partnership and participation with Pendant Productions. Rene is particularly grateful for the continued support given to her by her life partner and friend Ashley, without whom she would not be the deleriously happy wacko she is today.
