John Johnson

I was born, October 31, 1952. As a child I loved comic books and science fiction, and looked forward to the day that men would walk on the Moon, even after an adult actually told me - in all seriousness - that space travel was impossible, and that no one would ever travel to the Moon.I never imagined a time when we would have stopped going to the Moon. I am also interested in American History. In fact, in June of this year, I made a pilgramage to the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY, to rub the foot of the statue of Daniel Boone there, which is supposed to bring good luck. (Okay, I was passing through and I figured; "Why not?").

I first acted on stage at Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio in the 1970-71 school year. The play was "Curtain Going Up", a comedy about a high school play. I had no lines, and my character was identified in the script as "Extra, if desired." Later in the school year, I was "Mr. Bester", head of the English Department, in a stage version of "Up the Down Staircase". I think I had 2 lines.

In the Fall of 1971, I became a theatre major at the University of Akron. Now that was fun. I played a lot of interesting parts, including a member of the "Chorus of Theban elders" in "Oedipus, the King", The Earl of Warwick in "The Lark" and Shawn Keogh (not the title character) in "Playboy of the Western World".

I think it was the "New Adventures of Superman" animated series, reuniting the "Superman" radio cast of the 40's that got me interested in old radio dramas, although it was many years before I would hear a 40's "Superman" episode.

Like many others, I discovered Pendant through the Superman Homepage. I got hooked on "Last Son of Krypton" shortly before the Batman and Wonder Woman shows began. I had always longed to be involved in this sort of drama, either as an actor or writer, so began auditioning.

My first Pendant role was the Lexcorp Head of Security in LSOK #20. "Jax-Ur" is my first recurring role.
