A long time ago, in an elementary school far, far away, Bill had his first acting experience. His largest role was in the 5th grade school play, a musical version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. He then took a 26 year break to work on other activities. After he decided to return to acting, he got minor roles in a local community theater. The first was as Officer Brophy in Arsenic and Old Lace. Then, he tackled a bit of the technical side of things, working the lights for another show (in which he had a walk-on role as a waiter - no lines to forget, thankfully). His big break, such as it was, given the general quality of community theater, was to play the lead in a farce by Alan Ayckbourn (the play being How The Other Half Loves). This was his last role in stage plays for some time, and he hasn't been back yet, although he keeps looking in the papers for auditions. In May 2007, R. Francis Smith introduced Bill to Pendant, and after listening to just a few episodes of their shows, it stuck. Bill auditioned for several roles, not landing anything serious for some time. Then came the notice in the mailing list for a director's class that was being offered. And after that was done, Bill was directing Superman: The Last Son of Krypton, taking over from the highly skilled Tom Stitzer. Talk about big shoes to fill. Now that Bill's time as director of LSOK is over, it's time to look to the future. He'll be bothering lots of directors with auditions, and may be pressed into more directing, depending on the project and his schedule. In the meantime, he'll be around. Listen
